Template:OTW Zone

From OnTrackWorld

Full-width content section with a heading, a subhead, and a grid of cards — used for both "Open inquiries" and "The living record" on the Welcome to OnTrackWorld. Card content is passed in as the content parameter, so it can hold any number of card template calls. Internally this template is just OTW Anchor + a heading + OTW Subhead + OTW Card Grid — those three are also available on their own for pages that don't need the full zone (see e.g. the hub-style content pages, which use OTW Card Grid directly without a zone wrapper).

Parameters:

  • title (required): section heading
  • subtitle (optional): one line under the heading
  • variant (optional, default "active"): "active" or "record" — controls the accent colour and background via the otw-zone-active / otw-zone-record CSS classes
  • columns (optional, default 4): set to 3 to use the narrower otw-grid-3 card width (used by "The living record"); any other value keeps the default 4-ish flexible width (used by "Open inquiries")
  • content (required): the card template calls (e.g. Inquiry card or OTW Record Card) that fill the grid — put one per line
  • anchor (optional): if set, adds an empty anchor div right before the section so links like [[Home Page#open-inquiries]] keep working
  • foot (optional): text/links shown in a footer strip under the grid (e.g. a "propose an inquiry" call to action). Omit it to leave the zone without a footer strip

Note: "columns" reflects how the CSS actually works here — otw-grid is a flexible wrapping row (each card's width adjusts to available space), not a fixed CSS grid. otw-grid-3 just gives cards a narrower target width so more fit per row.

Example:

{{OTW Zone
|anchor=open-inquiries
|variant=active
|title=Open inquiries
|subtitle=Live Multilogues taking responses.
|columns=4
|content=
{{Inquiry card|series=VitalRail|title=Example inquiry|page=Example|question=What is the question?|phase=Inquiry|round=1|responses=TBD|participants=TBD|closes=TBD}}
|foot='''Have a question that belongs here?''' Stakeholders propose new inquiries through the [[Multilogue Library]].
}}
